AMBITION

When Legacy Cannabis entered Illinois' legal cannabis market, they brought years of experience and deep roots in the community. As early pioneers in the space, their team had a strong understanding of the culture and a clear passion for the plant.

However, navigating the shift to a regulated industry—and building a brand that resonated with both legacy consumers and the modern market—required a new kind of strategy.That’s where we came in.

At 90u Media, we partnered with Legacy to help translate their vision into a brand built for long-term growth.

STRATEGY

Legacy Cannabis set out to do more than just enter the market—they wanted to define, build, and leave a lasting impression. With a bold, unapologetic approach and a commitment to forging a new path, they partnered with us to create a brand identity that reflected their heritage, quality, and collaborative spirit.

Through in-depth conversations and close collaboration, we helped shape the visual language and messaging that captured what sets Legacy apart. From strategy to execution, every design decision was made with clarity and impact in mind. As trailblazers ourselves, we approached this project with fresh perspective and creative conviction—bringing Legacy’s vision to life in a way that resonates with cannabis communities across Illinois.

Logo Creation

We began with the foundation: The Logo.
The final Legacy Cannabis design strikes a balance between heritage and modernity. Anchored by a bold, elevated “L” and finished with a sweeping “Y,” the mark captures both leadership and energy. The royal purple and gold palette evokes a sense of tradition and sophistication, while the calligraphy-inspired type adds a human touch that feels intentional and timeless. The result is a visual identity that feels handcrafted, confident, and always in motion.

Packaging Design

Packaging is the first impression, so we made something that truly piques consumer interest. Crafted with quality materials and an artistic flair, the packaging showcases the brand's monarchial colorway with crisp white lettering, accented by gold. Consistent across pouches, boxes, and doob tubes, all designs feature the iconic tagline, "Cement Your Legacy.” Every detail reinforces Legacy’s commitment to quality and heritage, leaving a lasting impression.

Content Design and Production

Content design and Production were our next projects. Before starting any project, we deep dove into the audience and demographic creating variations of the ideal consumer, until we got it right. From there, every decision was formed based on these studies to create what would transcend trends and form trust, connection, and knowledge sharing.

On social media, our ad campaigns are digital landmarks. They chronicle bold, edgy stories that grab attention, spark meaningful conversations, and cultivate a loyal community. We consider ourselves experts on all platforms, using each to our advantage, from the eye-catching visuals on Instagram to dynamic Reddit discussions, we’ve leveraged platform strengths to create a multifaceted presence.

Our visuals lead the charge. For Legacy Cannabis, we focused on vibrant, relatable lifestyle photography that captures real, diverse experiences that feel as familiar and aspirational. We use sleek product shots, event highlights, and raw behind-the-scenes moments, for bold aesthetics with authenticity. These designs don't just look good…they feel like a natural extension of the brand.

Website Design

Next came their digital footprint, online merch store, and presence… Legacy Cannabis’s digital website!
Webflow is a cutting-edge, visual website-building platform that empowers 90u with complete control over design, content strategy, and code. Recognizing Legacy Cannabis's need for a website as distinctive as themselves, we went with Webflow for its unmatched flexibility and robust capabilities. The platform's intuitive interface enabled us to bring Legacy's vision to life, crafting a visually striking, responsive website that tells its story with clarity and style.

We implemented a CMS for simplifying updates, an imperative move due to Legacy's regular product drops, exciting events, and new educational resources. The best part? It's reliable and consistent. The website is not just aesthetically pleasing, but the user experience and performance are top-notch, with fast loading times and robust Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools for high search rankings. Finally, our team optimized the site for mobile and desktop users, allowing Legacy’s audience to enjoy a consistent and engaging online experience.

Digital Marketing

These days, Digital Marketing can't be overlooked. For Legacy Cannabis’s strategy, we used a clever combination of modern tactics and strong analytics, delivering measuring and impactful results. We focused much of our attention on SEO practices. Through meticulously refining keywords, optimizing content, and leveraging backlinking, we ensured Legacy’s content consistently pops up early on browsers, reaching the intended audience, at the right time.
We continuously monitored trends and analyzed audience behaviors, adapting campaigns in real time to stay ahead of the ever-evolving cannabis industry.
